    The Palisade is the biggest and most luxurious SUV in Hyundai’s lineup. This three-row SUV debuted in 2020, and a 2023 update included better technology and newer looks. The dark-colored Calligraphy Night Edition is a new addition to the collection for 2024. The Ford Explorer, Kia Telluride, and Honda Pilot are the 2024 Hyundai Palisade’s rivals.

    Our Thoughts


    The Kia Telluride, the Hyundai Palisade’s corporate equivalent, is among the first vehicles that spring to mind. The Palisade’s base and mechanicals are similar to those of the 2020 MotorTrend SUV of the Year winner, although it has a more angular body and a larger luggage space. The Palisade is still a fantastic SUV that merits notice, despite possibly not being as visually striking as the Telluride.


    The Palisade has a more urbane stance, while the Telluride leans toward a more rough mentality. The Hyundai’s cabin feels roomier and more luxurious, and it competes with true luxury SUVs in the top-of-the-line Calligraphy model. Although the third row doesn’t have a lot of room, it’s adequate for quick trips and small children, and the power folding feature makes it simple to reach the back seats. A top-trim Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy’s luxurious interior features and peaceful, pleasant ride helped it defeat a Telluride SX-Prestige X-Line in a comparison test.


    The Palisade is helpful, if not particularly motivating, on the road.     Are There Seven or Eight Seats in the Hyundai Palisade?


    Depending on the model level and layout, the Hyundai Palisade can have seven or eight seats. A second-row bench seat that can accommodate up to eight people is only available on the base SE model. SEL trim levels and higher, however, have captain’s chairs in the second row, which limits the number of seats to seven. All trim levels above the Palisade SEL come with second-row captain’s chairs, but the second-row bench is still an option.


    Will There Be an All-Electric Palisade?


    Nearly, but not quite. It is anticipated that the forthcoming Hyundai Ioniq 7 will be a three-row, all-electric SUV that is comparable in size to the present Palisade. The Ioniq 7 will have a distinctive appearance and possibly a range of up to 300 miles, while sharing many essential components with the Kia EV9.     The cabin of the Palisade has plenty of room. The third-row seat is a little tight, but not substantially more so than other of its competitors in the same segment. Similarly, freight capacity is more than adequate but not leading.

    Technology


    A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard on all Palisade grade levels. Additionally included are Wi-Fi hotspot functionality and dual Bluetooth connectivity. Higher-end trims feature a 12.3-inch all-digital gauge display with a head-up display, while base versions get a 4.2-inch gauge cluster display. Third-row USB ports are available, and two ports in the second row are standard in addition to the three front-row ports. High-end models come equipped with a smart rearview mirror, a 360-degree camera, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

    Our recommendation for the 2024 Hyundai Palisade selection is the SEL model with the Premium package. Selecting the Premium option includes features like 20-inch wheels, an all-digital gauge display, additional driver assistance technology, and third-row USB connections.     You could forget that the SE is the base trim because it comes with so many appealing standard features. The exterior has heated side mirrors, LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels. An infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming capability, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, five USB ports, a second-row bench seat that can accommodate up to eight passengers, and Rear Seat Quiet Mode that mutes the speakers in the second and third rows are all included inside. An outstanding array of active safety features is also incorporated, including adaptive cruise control, rear occupant alert, lane keeping and following assistance, forward collision avoidance aid with pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, and rear parking sensors.
